Transformations: Art of the Scott Sisters is an exhibition at Shellharbour Civic Centre in Shellharbour City Centre, running until Friday 13 November. It brings together up to 39 framed reproductions of watercolours by Harriet and Helena Scott, whose detailed work documented Australian moths and butterflies in the 1800s. Look for caterpillars, native flowers and landscapes in paintings the sisters made for their father’s book on Australian insects. It’s a chance for local art and nature enthusiasts to see how the sisters combined close scientific observation with painting.
